Accountant CV format for jobs in Dhaka
Where your ICAB or ICMAB status goes, how to describe compliance work, and why the software you name matters more than you think.

Finance hiring in Dhaka runs on three signals: your professional qualification status, the systems you have actually used, and whether you have owned a close or only assisted with one. Get those three right and the rest of the CV is supporting detail.
State your qualification status precisely
"CA (partly qualified)" is not a status. Write what stage you are at: knowledge, application, certificate, professional. If you are article-registered with a firm, name the firm and the period — that is a recognised credential in itself.
The same applies to CMA, ACCA and CIMA. A recruiter screening a hundred CVs is sorting by level, and vagueness reads as further away than you are.
Name the software, exactly
This is where finance CVs lose out most often. "ERP experience" matches nothing. Write the systems: Tally ERP 9, SAP FICO, Oracle Financials, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics.
Employers filter on these names, and the difference between "SAP" and "SAP FICO" is the difference between a maybe and a match. If you have built models in Excel, say which functions and whether you have worked with Power Query or VBA — "advanced Excel" is a claim everyone makes.
Show ownership, not participation
The distinction that matters:
- *Assisted:* "Supported the monthly close process."
- *Owned:* "Closed the books monthly for a BDT 40 crore entity, reducing the close from nine working days to four by standardising reconciliations."
Ownership signals you can be left alone with a deadline. Where you genuinely assisted, say so — an inflated claim collapses in the first interview question.
Compliance work is worth its own lines
In Bangladesh this is a distinct competence and worth stating plainly:
- Monthly VAT returns (Mushak) and withholding tax filings
- Income tax return preparation and assessment support
- Statutory audit coordination, and whether findings were raised
- RJSC filings
- Compliance with IFRS as adopted locally
If you have closed consecutive years with no material audit findings, that is a sentence worth including.
Numbers that mean something
Finance is the one field where a CV without figures looks odd. Turnover of the entity you handled, number of ledgers, headcount on payroll you administered, days sales outstanding you brought down, recoveries you identified.
Use the scale a local reader understands — crore and lakh are clearer than a long string of zeros for a Bangladeshi employer, though write the numeral form too if you are applying abroad.
Layout
Finance recruiters are conservative readers and often work through a portal. The Ledger template is a restrained single column with prominent space for qualifications and compliance work. It is ATS-safe, which matters because large employers here increasingly filter before a human reads.
Check the result with the ATS checker before you send it.
