Privacy Policy

Last updated 25 September 2026

This policy explains what AutoCoderCV collects, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to autocodercv.com and every page on it.

Who we are

AutoCoderCV is a free online CV and resume builder built and run by SoftyIT. You can reach us at hello@autocodercv.com about anything in this policy, including a request to see or delete your data.

What we collect

Account information. If you sign in with GitHub, we receive your GitHub username, public profile details and your email address. We store these to identify your account.

GitHub repository data. If you connect GitHub and run a sync, we read repository metadata, README files, language statistics and commit counts — including from private repositories if you granted that permission. We never write to your repositories. This data is used only to draft content for your own CV.

Content you enter. Everything you type into the builder: your name, contact details, work history, education and any photograph you choose to upload.

Contact messages. If you use the contact form we store your name, email, message, IP address and browser user-agent so we can reply and block abuse.

Technical data. Standard server logs including IP address, browser type and pages requested.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not publish your CV or your portfolio unless you explicitly turn publishing on, and private repositories are excluded from public pages regardless of any setting.

Cookies and advertising

We use cookies to keep you signed in. These are essential to the service.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Google may use the DoubleClick cookie or similar technologies to collect information about your activity in order to provide advertising based on your browsing. Third-party vendors and ad networks other than Google may also serve ads on this site.

How to opt out of personalised advertising

Where required, we ask for your consent before non-essential cookies are placed on your device, and you may withdraw that consent at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). These include the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to object to or restrict certain processing, to receive a copy in a portable format, and — under the CCPA — to opt out of any sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

Our legal basis for processing is your consent when you connect GitHub or accept advertising cookies, and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@autocodercv.com. We respond within 30 days. You may also delete your account at any time, which removes your CVs, stored GitHub token and repository data.

Data retention and security

Your GitHub access token is encrypted before it is stored, so a copy of the database alone cannot be used to reach your repositories. We keep your account data until you delete your account, and contact messages for up to two years.

Children

This service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We will update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes. Material changes will be announced on the site.
