πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ United Kingdom CV format

Two pages, A4, no photo, British spelling.

The UK CV is close to the American rΓ©sumΓ© in what it excludes, and closer to the South Asian CV in length.

Two pages is the norm

One page reads as thin for anyone with experience; three suggests you have not edited. Two is the target, and recruiters here genuinely expect the second page to be used.

No photo, no personal details

Same reasoning as the US: UK equality legislation makes it awkward for an employer to hold a document showing your age or ethnicity before interview. Recruitment agencies routinely strip photos before passing a CV to a client.

Remove date of birth, marital status, nationality (unless stating your right to work), religion and father's name.

State your right to work

If you need sponsorship, say so plainly near the top β€” "Requires Skilled Worker sponsorship" β€” rather than leaving it to be discovered. Employers who cannot sponsor will reject you anyway, and those who can will not be surprised later.

Personal statement, not objective

A short summary at the top is expected. Three or four lines describing what you do and what you are looking for. The American "Objective" heading is not used.

Other conventions

Opens with the photo off and the page size set to A4 β€” the settings this country expects. Change anything you like.
